BMW’s 2023 Concept XM reveal clearly shows that the next generation of X models will be interesting. In the future, BMW will have some very impressive SUVs.
The Concept XM will give the production XM a high standard to live up to due to its sculpted looks, its radically sized grille, and its interesting lighting. That’s before your attention is drawn to the plug-in hybrid engine that, at the very least, should live up to the BMW M badge.
Interesting lighting Choices
Lighting options are interesting on the Concept XM, and they do not restrict themselves to shrunken headlights. The dual-module headlights are joined by highlights of LEDs that are located just above the A-pillars. Roof humps straddle the rear hatch, which slopes down further toward the rear section as it traverses a lower section of the roof.
Furthermore, LEDs are integrated into the grille openings, and the “XM” stripe badge on the front of the car glows with light. The production version of the XM will probably incorporate at least some of these lighting features.
As we see on the Concept XM, the separation of the daytime running lights and the headlights is one feature that will be common to all BMW cars from now on. Daytime running lights are located in the typical location for headlights. The headlights are hidden behind dark-colored glass beneath those running lamps, making them hard to see. You can see the “C” shapes in the glass behind the kidney grilles. This is the headlight module. Though BMW hasn’t confirmed exactly how the separation will work, it is expected to be applied to future BMWs.
Muscular body with a sculpted appearance
A two-tone treatment is applied to the Concept XM, with the beltline separating the colors. A matte-gold bronze paint finish tops the XM, while Space Grey Metallic finishes the lower portion. There are hexagonal-shaped exhaust pipes on either side of the rear bumper, all integrated into the rear bumper. On the other hand, the battery charging port can be found behind a door in the left front fender behind the traditional fuel door behind the right rear door.
An interior fit for a rock star
A striking cabin design greets us inside the Concept XM. BMW M-models should focus on the driver, so the front is where more action occurs. The car’s instrument panel features a weave trim pattern of carbon-copper and tanned, age leather. In addition to the new front end, the display has a curved design that gives the Concept XM an authentic, modern cockpit feel. Three elements with M tri-color stripes on their lower edges are located just below the right-hand portion of the curved display, just to remind you of its performance heritage.
Black leather covers the upper portion of the rear bench seat, and a velvet-like azure-hued petrol fabric covers the lower portion. There is a stitch pattern of diamonds on the deep pile carpeting and petrol fabric.
Power System
A hybrid system plug-in hybrid will power the Concept XM. This gives the benefit of having a silent drive.
